Helping Our Friends and Neighbors
The past few months have been very busy donation months for the Safest Choice team! We have been absolutely thrilled to both create new and build on long-standing relationships with fantastic organizations such as the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, Feeding South Dakota, Joshua’s Heart Foundation and Feed the Children.
These four organizations work hard to put food on the tables of those in need, allowing those individuals to improve the quality of their life. We are honored to be able to work with these organizations which strive to put an end to hunger and provide a basic source of survival to families and individuals in need.
On April 2, 2012, the Safest Choice team made one of their biggest donations to date! Through the help of our South Dakota facilities, we donated over 16,000 hard-boiled eggs to Feeding South Dakota which is based out of Sioux Falls, SD.
On June 28, 2012, we were thrilled to greatly exceed our April donation when donating hard-boiled eggs out of our Lansing, IL facility to Feed the Children! Feed The Children is committed to both feeding children in need, as well as providing sources of education through the distribution of books and school supplies.
“We sincerely appreciate Safest Choice Eggs for their donation of hard boiled eggs to help families in need,? said Tony Sellars, spokesperson for Feed The Children. “We hope more people will respond to help us provide assistance for fellow Americans who are suffering through the current economic downturn.?
Here at Safest Choice, we are all honored to have been able to make these donations possible and are so proud of our operations team who take the extra time to make these efforts possible.
Another organization we would like to mention is Kenna’s Kids. Kenna’s Kids is a nonprofit organization that reaches out to individual families with children experiencing life’s medical challenges at a young age. This summer we sponsored a hole at their golf outing, Kenna Cup. The touching story behind the first golf outing and how the organization got started can be found here.
