Peanut Butter Baked Donuts with Chocolate Glaze Recipe

Who doesn't love donuts? These peanut butter baked donuts with chocolate glaze are sure to start your day off right when you have them for breakfast. Peanut butter and chocolate are the perfect marriage of flavors.

  • 1/3 c creamy peanut butter
  • 2 Tbsp sour cream
  • 1/2 c packed brown sugar
  • 1 Davidson's Safest Choice® pasteurized egg(s)
  • 1/3 c milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, using a mixer, beat together the peanut butter, sour cream, and brown sugar until light and creamy. Stir in the egg, milk, and vanilla, and beat well.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix until just combined.
  4. Spoon the batter into a greased 6-well donut pan. Fill the donut wells to the top with the batter.
  5. Bake for 8 minutes or until the donuts feel firm and spring back when you gently press them.
  6. Cool completely before topping with the glaze.

Chocolate Glaze

  • 1/2 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 2 Tbsp finely diced peanuts (optional)
  1. Place the chocolate chips and milk in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat on low for 15 seconds. Stir and then return to the microwave for another 15 seconds. Stir again to completely melt the chocolate chips. If needed, return to the microwave in 5-second bursts, but the chocolate should melt if stirred well after just 30 seconds.
  2. Spread the chocolate glaze on the donuts and sprinkle with the chopped peanuts if desired.


Donuts are best served immediately, but they will keep for up to 3 days in an airtight container.

Love this recipe i removed the peanut butter and added my own flavors and touches and taste just like a bakery! i used gluten free flour instead of regular flour. they didn't rise as high but omg they were just as delicious! definitely saving this recipe and using it any chance i get!

Excellent taste and easy to make! I made a few changes. I used buttermilk because I had it to use up. I did not pack the brown sugar, I just scooped it loose. And I didn't glaze them because they disappeared too fast!
